    ALR screens are the latest front projection technology on the market providing an ambient light rejecting surface which supports ultra-short throw projection while blocking light from nearby windows or ceiling lighting. The result is the brightest front projection display in our range offering both vibrant images with excellent black levels.

    HIGH CONTRAST UST PROJECTION SCREEN

    This screen combines a high contrast projection layer and unique optical filter that rejects external light, providing stunning images with superior brightness, contrast and resolution. Our Ambient Light Rejecting (ALR) Front Projection Screen is designed specifically for the latest ultra short throw (UST) projectors (around 0.4 lens and shorter). In addition, it is the unique ambient light-rejecting screen that filters out ambient light, excelling in brightly lit environments and daylight. Pro Display ALR projector screens also support edge blending as shown with Scalable Display’s edge blending system.

    Standard screen sizes are available in 80”, 100” and 120” with custom sizes up to 5m x 1.5m available on request or ALR projector film for retrofit or tensioned applications.

    OUTPERFORMS ALTERNATIVES

    The ALR screen combines a high contrast optical projection layer with the ambient light-rejecting filter to give a stunning performance in high ambient light, bright daylight and even sunlight. Images are reproduced without the projection hotspots, inherent with projection screens that rely on high gain to overcome ambient light.

    Our Ultra Short Throw front projection screen gives a professional quality image where space is at a premium. This matte ALR screen outperforms LCD / LED displays with glass and acrylic fascia’s which reflect sunlight and ambient light. The ALR screen is the ideal choice for corporate, education and general digital signage applications, especially where bright daylight or artificial light easily washes out other projection screen surfaces.

    LIGHT REJECTING TECHNOLOGY

    The light-rejecting screen filters bright light hitting the screen from above, while at the same time allowing the highly reflective projection surface to capture light from the projector below, displaying images with stunning contrast, colour and resolution.

    HOW DOES AN ALR SCREEN WORK?

    Our Ambient light rejecting front projection screen works by reflecting unwanted light, like daylight, away from the screen whilst maximising the light coming from the projector. The louvred micro-optical light-rejecting screen filters bright light hitting the screen from above, blocking more than 85% of external light, while at the same time allowing the highly reflective projection surface to capture light from the projector below, displaying images with stunning contrast, colour and resolution.

    ARE ALR SCREENS WORTH IT?

    ALR screens are the best front projection solution for brightly lit environments, providing a noticeably brighter, higher contrast screen in comparison to standard front projection screens. ALR front projection screens also outperform LCD/LED panels that can prove to be far more expensive, yet still suffer fade from high ambient light.

    CAN YOU MAKE CUSTOM ALR SCREENS?

    We can manufacture custom ALR screens in made to measure sizing and bespoke aspect ratios. As well as offering our ALR screens in a range of standard sizes, they can also be used as modular tiles for video walls and edge blending applications or manufactured in a 32:9 aspect ratios for an edge blend stretched projection display.
